Thesis Description :

In this project, we aim to study the possibility of increasing the emission efficiency of organic materials using plasmonic effect as a first step in order to investigate organic laser diode. The goal is to synthesize metallic nanoparticles functionalized by an organic compound of core-shell type and to introduce them inside the organic light-emitting diode (OLED) hetero-structure. After the optimization of these structures, they will be associated with a laser micro-cavity (vertical or photonic crystal) in order to study the lasing effect under electrical pumping. These new hetero-structures could show important electroluminescence properties and a better performance than a conventional OLED. This project might pave the way to the study and development of an organic laser diode under electrical pumping.
